Denver Cyclone #8 Caylor Hoffer

Even though the score may say otherwise, this was a story of two halves for the Denver Cyclone Football Team. The first half was rough with the Tigers running past the Cyclones in all aspects. However, the end of the half ended with a Cyclone touchdown, setting a momentum swing into the second half. Coach Barrett gave an emotional speech at the half, getting the Cyclones hyped up for the second half of play. The Cyclones showed drive and effort in the second half much more than the 1st half, but in the end, they came up short against the talented South Hardin Tigers 19-7.

The Cyclones received the ball to start the game and first quarter. They made several short rushes with #22 Ethan Schoville, but after #2 Isaac Besh threw an interception to #24 Ryan Walters, the Tigers were in possession of the ball. The Tigers slowly advanced down the field until #5 Dante Dolash threw a pass to #6 Beau Butler that was taken to the endzone for a 44 yard touchdown that made the score 6-0 and with a good PAT, the Tigers were up 7-0. The Cyclones and Tigers would exchange possessions back and forth until the Tigers would again go on a drive into Cyclone Territory. With rushes from #22 Nathan Coffman and #24 Ryan Walters, the Tigers got into the redzone. However, the Cyclones would make a valiant stand and force the Tigers to a field goal, limiting their lead to 10-0 at the end of the first quarter.

To start the second quarter, the Tigers got the ball back after a Cyclone fumble and started advancing quickly down the field. The Tigers ended their drive with #6 Beau Butler rushed into the endzone for a 6 yard touchdown and with a good PAT the score was 17-0. Possessions were exchanged for a majority of the rest of the quarter, until the Cyclones made a great drive towards the end of the half. With a little amount of time left in the half, #2 Isaac Besh unloaded a pass deep into the endzone for #8 Caylor Hoffer which gave the Cyclones a 37 yard touchdown, and with a good PAT the score was 17-7 at the half.

The Cyclones came out into the 2nd half rejuvenated and ready to catch up to the Tigers. The Cyclone and Tigers defenses came out much more prepared this half, not allowing either to score or advance father. Back to back to back punts set up the Cyclones being behind heading into the final moments of the 4th quarter. The Cyclones had the ball with a minute left on 4th down backed up in their own endzone. The Tigers pressure came hard, and the Cyclones fell back and were sacked, giving the Tigers a safety to make the final score of 19-7. Great game South Hardin Tigers well earned.
