Acker-Matthias American Legion Post in Denver, Iowa, gathered local citizens to honor the fallen veterans and healthcare workers on Memorial day, May 25th. The service began at 10:00 a.m. with the pledge of allegiance and thanking of healthcare workers. Then, the history of fallen veteran clerics, nurses, doctors, etc. Then, the legion explained why they didn’t think about cancelling the service for memorial day, since it meant so much to honor those who have served our country. Butch Millius then gave a prayer and following that was the 21 gun salute. Taps was played by Sean Kiefer and the echo was played by Mr. Dan Cooper.
